Summer has come and gone...

And I have some things to share

My Dear Rise Family,

It has been 108 days since I left Las Cruces, putting my life on pause while I went out into the world to search for some bigger answers. It's not intentional that I am writing you after 108 days -- this just happens to be a coincidence that I can't really ignore given the significance. In yoga philosophy, the number 108 is very important. There are 108 beads in a mala, a special necklace used for chanting. It is said that chanting a mantra 108 times is long enough to silence the ego and open up to the cosmic high powers. Ancient Hindu philosophers see the number 108 as representing the wholeness of existence. The average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameters. There are 108 pressure points in the body in Ayurvedic medicine. The list goes on. But I write to you, here, 108 days after I left Las Cruces, a different person. 108 days of me being committed full time to my yoga practice has led to some surprising events. For one, I expected to be home long ago. My wildest estimates of when I would return home still only reached to late July. Not to bore you with too many details (but I truly am happy to talk about them if you would like to hear more! You can reply to this email any time), but after receiving my 500 hour certification in Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore, India, I made my way to Goa and studied at Purple Valley Ashtanga Yoga Centre, where I met some fantastic teachers who took me under their wing. Under their guidance, I have had many breakthroughs, and I was accepted to study with the head guru of Ashtanga Yoga, Sharath Jois, starting in October. After Goa, I spent a month teaching and assisting in Singapore, and a week studying Ashtanga more deeply in Bali. I write to you now from my apartment in Mysore, as I await my October training. I want to write first to update you and say that unfortunately, I made the difficult decision to close my shop on Alameda. It is a dream that is still very much alive, but the time for it is not now. It also goes without saying that I am not currently baking. I do hope to find a space to continue that side of the business when I get home, but there is currently no timeline for my return to sourdough. The good news is that I am in a consistent and grounded space now, and I have reopened my books for tarot and distance reiki. It's quite funny to me to come back to doing tarot and reiki online, as this is exactly how RISE started nearly 7 years ago. I love when a story comes full circle. I do hope that you consider booking with me and receiving guidance from the universe through my tarot readings. Please keep in mind that the available time slots are a bit awkward due to time zone differences.

Offerings:

Zoom Tarot Reading + Reiki

Tarot Readings will last for approximately 45-60 minutes and include discussion of your needs, deck selection, and a custom tarot spread. If time allows, further cards can be pulled for clarity or new questions. The session will end with a meditation and distance reiki session.

Recorded Video Reading

Get feedback from the universe in this low-contact format. Works great for those on a budget or looking for simple answers and guidance to questions or situations.

Text Message Reading

Text Message Readings allow you to get a reading in the form of a live conversation, without having to worry about making time to be face to face.

I love doing readings this way because you are able to focus on the reading and the words and photos of the cards. It gives me a chance to connect with you to read your cards. You can also revisit it later and see how the situation evolves and resonates.

Zoom Reading

For the person looking for the face-to-face tarot experience, a Zoom reading is a great option. This reading allows the conversation to happen naturally, giving me the opportunity to read your energy and connect you directly to the cards.

I want to thank those of you who have been patient with me as I navigate this life transition. I do know that all this has been for the best, and through this I am becoming the magical being I know I am destined to become. I am currently working on a blog that contains some longform writing about my experience so far. I will be sure to inform you once it is up and running. But until then, if you'd like to keep up with my adventures, I am active on my personal Instagram account. Love & Magic Always, Gina
