The primary series of Ashtanga yoga is a precise sequence of postures, linked together with vinyasa sequences. Sri K. Pattabhi Jois created this foundational practice which provides the basis for the other five ashtanga vinyasa sequences. Ashtanga yoga includes a specific breathing technique, use of bandhas (energetic locks), drishti (gaze points), and coordinated movement with the breath. The Sanskrit name for the primary series is yoga chikitsa, which can be interpreted as “yoga therapy;” it is believed to heal the mind and body. This class will begin as a led class for the first few months while we build a core group of practitioners. Eventually, this class will shift to a Mysore style practice, which is self-led with guidance and adjustments from the instructor. You are welcome to join in person at Dwell Yoga or on Zoom. If you attend via Zoom, please text at least 30 minutes before the class to ensure that the equipment is set up. To access, use the link in the confirmation email to access. You are not required to register for class on this website. I will use this website to keep track of how many classes you have used, but the best way to register for class is through Dwell Yoga's MindBody App.
For Readings: Cancellations must be 24 hours in advance for a refund. Cancellations within 24 hours or no shows will forfeit the cost of the reading. I understand that I am not the reader for everybody. If I feel that we are not a good match, I reserve the right to cancel any reading and issue a refund. For Yoga: Yoga classes may be canceled at any time and the pass may be transferred to a future class. Class passes expire after 6 months.
